About
Chilgrove Bluewater Gin 46% - 70cl
Another proper gin form Chilgrove. A lovely citrus/floral marriage of botanicals from both Australia and England.
Inspired by the relationship between Australia and England, and celebrating the trade routes of both nations, Bluewater takes its name from "Bluewater Sailing", a specific type of ship with expeditionary capabilities, designed to endure the waves on long voyages.
Crisp and smooth, this isn't a shy gin, it's a classic one. For the same reasons as we like the Chilgrove Dry Gin, it's a nod to all that is right about gin, and why we loved it in the first place.
It's not just methods and products that make a good gin, a lot of it comes down to the distiller - Chilgrove is produced by a master distiller who has an impressive heritage in distilling - the family has been in the trade since the 17C!
The Taste
Chilgrove provides a big hit of juniper both on the nose and the palate, but floating invitingly above, there's a floral delicateness. The further addtional citrus notes to this Chilgrove Bluewater Gin give it a very refreshing experience indeed.
The choice of a grape derived spirit is rather surprisingly a more unique choice in the UK - these days, most distillers choose a cereal based grain spirit, but Chilgrove nods to the days gone by when the original Jenever spirit utilised the grape.
The Botanicals
Botanicals include:
ENGLAND: Juniper, coriander, mint, angelica and savory
AUSTRALIA: Finger lime, lemon mrytle, riberry, Davidson plum
