Shipping & delivery | Gin Box Shop

- Thank you for taking the time to look at our shipping costs. As a potentially valuable customer we like to be as transparent as we can about our shipping.

- We aren’t as big as some of the other drink oriented e-commerce sites but we try and be as competitive as we can on postage costs.

- We endeavour to “intelligently” process parcels so as to offer you the cheapest shipping cost that we can pass on, without losing money (or too much money) ourselves.

- We can assure you that we assess the weight and size of packages and offer our best price on your item’s delivery. After all, we know that sometimes this can make the difference in a sale.

- We have individually weighed and measured all out stock items and the respective packaging they, or combinations of, would be shipped in, and have our system calculate your delivery cost fairly and provide you with your options.

Royal Mail

We love to ship with Royal Mail, we think they are a reliable and brilliantly run company.

A huge bonus with Royal Mail is that they deliver on Saturdays at no extra cost. They also offer very competitive delivery on items under 1kg, whether being shipped on 1st or second class.

…but due to Royal Mail restrictions we can only send two vessels of alcohol per package  - this is an across the board rule with Royal Mail. And over a certain weight it becomes very costly to use them. For this reason, sometimes your order might turn up in separate packages or we recommend using our other Courier, Parcel Force.

If Royal Mail delivery is an option then costs for delivery are calculated upon checkout.

Small Parcel under 1kg:

1st Class: £4.40

2nd Class: £2.95

Small Parcel under 2kg =

1st Class: £5.50

2nd Class: £2.95

Some smaller items will be cheaper than the above. Light items such as samples and books, for example.

Parcel Force

We also use Parcel Force because they can offer a next day delivery service. (If you place your order with us before 9am on any working day)

Parcel Force also don’t restrict us on the numbers of alcoholic vessels that we send in one package, so if you want to order two or more standard sized bottles of gin on 24hr, it’s cheaper for us to offer it with Parcel Force.

Parcelforce 48hr - £6.95
Parcelforce 24hr - £7.80

Parcels over a certain weight  (6.5kg) and/or size will have different charges due to packaging specifics - These charges are calculated at checkout.

PLEASE NOTE that items sent by Parcelforce 24/48hr are NOT guaranteed to arrive within the 24hr/48hr time frame and no compensation can be offered for items which do not arrive within this time frame.

Please note our shipping is based on a working day delivery service. Saturday delivery is unfortunately not all that cheap for us, and we don't mark it up, so if you would like tracked Saturday delivery, it's an option, but not the cheapest one. Hoever, items posted through Royal Mail may well be delivered on a Saturday through the standard non-trackable service, and Royal Mail is nice and affordable, as well as reasonably priced.

For example, as per the details above: a 24hr order placed after 11am on a Thursday would be processed on the Friday and be expected for delivery on the following Monday. This example would exclude Bank Holidays when the order would be processed on the first working day opportunity and delivered in line with this working day delivery principle.

How do I Qualify for Free Delivery?

Spend over £80 on gin and we’ll cover your delivery on a trackable delivery service with Parcel Force. (If placed before 13:30 on a working day, one can expect the delivery on day 2 after the order day - order day is day 0)

When are Orders Processed?

All orders placed before 11am on standard business days will be processed the same day.

What determines the courier of Royal Mail or Parcel Force?

If the combination of your items is under two kilos, and you don’t have more than two vessels of alcohol spread between your order, then you will have the option for it to be shipped with Royal Mail

If a check-box is available to you in checkout and you have ticked it indicating that you don’t mind your order coming in multiple packages, and also agreed with the costs, then you will have the option for it to be shipped with Royal Mail.

As a general rule, if your order has more than two bottles of gin, then it will be shipped with Parcel Force.

All orders above £89 qualify for free shipping via Parcelforce Standard Delivery  - UK Mainland only, excluding the Scottish Highlands. And you still have the option to upgrade to Parcelforce Priority for an exta £2.50 if you're in a hurry.

- We offer Highland Customers a £6.24 discount on orders over £89 and we offer an upgrade to Priority services at discounted rates.

Delivery to The Highlands, Islands of Scotland, Northern Ireland, Isle of Man & Isles of Scilly will incur a surcharge.

Unfortunately we do not currently offer Parcelforce 24hr to these regions.

Highlands & Islands of Scotland - Add £9
Northern Ireland, Isle of Man & Isles of Scilly - Add £10

Parcels over a certain weight  (3kg) and/or size will have different charges due to packaging specifics - These charges are calculated at checkout.

A full list of the postcodes included in these regions is available in our Terms of Service.

If you feel the checkout is charging you incorrectly for postage, feel free to make your order then contact us via the website or by replying to your invoice & we'll credit you the difference of the anomaly.
